Tanks may be fixed capital, as a war spatial fix lasting over many cycles of capital reproduction, but drones are not: made quickly, used quickly. The feature of contemporary capital is that military Keynesianism now works more like fluid (circulating) capital than fixed capital.

What we've seen in UK HE is the systemic devaluation of academic expertise for uni management in favor of "professional services" staff, who often see the uni as a corporation rather than an institution. Yet PS administrators are now vulnerable themselves to being replaced by AI agents.

🚨🎥 “We will finally give them the most basic human right: to honor them and lay them to rest.”

Hundreds gathered in Gaza City on Thursday for the mass funeral of 105 Palestinians killed on October 25, 2023, when Israeli forces dropped at least 20 bombs on the Al-Taj residential block and surrounding buildings in Yarmouk Square.

Nearly three years later, it took Civil Defense crews, aided by Egyptian teams, 20 days of searching and digging through the rubble to recover the remains.

“We were able to recover 105 martyrs: children, women, the elderly, patients, engineers, doctors, nurses, and academics,” Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told Drop Site’s Mohamed Ahmed.

Basal said some 8,000 victims remain beneath destroyed buildings across Gaza and called for the entry of equipment and logistical support needed to recover them. “If things remain as they are, we are talking about many years in which these families will remain beneath the rubble.”

Sumaya Bakhit, who lost 15 members of her family beneath the Al-Taj building, said the remains of three of her brother’s children, ages 9, 5, and 2, were among those finally recovered.

“We have mixed emotions—sorrow, pain, but also joy,” Bakhit said. “The feelings of loss are impossible to describe.”

💢 Israel has killed 1,402 Palestinians and carried out more than 5,000 ceasefire violations in Gaza

Israeli forces have carried out at least 5,064 ceasefire violations across Gaza since the ceasefire agreement took effect, including 2,187 airstrikes and shelling attacks and 2,097 incidents of live fire, according to a report shared by the Palestinian side with mediators and obtained by Drop Site News.

Since the “ceasefire” took effect, 1,402 Palestinians have been killed — including 300 children, 141 women, and 42 elderly — and 4,880 wounded, nearly half of them children, women, or elderly. Another 194 Palestinians have been detained.

Israel also continues to hold approximately 34 square kilometers beyond agreed withdrawal lines and has blocked urgent repairs to electricity, water, and sewage infrastructure, as well as the entry of heavy machinery.

▪️ Only 13,397 of 34,400 planned crossings through Rafah were carried out (~38.9%)
▪️ Only ~34.6% of agreed humanitarian and commercial aid has entered — an average of about 208 trucks per day vs. 600 agreed
▪️ Fuel deliveries at just 15.4% of agreed levels

🚨BREAKING: “The occupation killed my son before my eyes”: Israeli strike kills son of Gaza Health Ministry director in Jabalia

Basir Muneer Al-Boursh, the son of Dr. Muneer Al-Boursh, director general of Gaza’s Ministry of Health, was killed in an Israeli strike in Jabalia, northern Gaza. His father said Basir was targeted just meters away from him.

Basir’s brother, Mohammed Al-Boursh, a general physician working in Gaza, told Drop Site’s Mohamed Ahmed Basir had been serving people and helping them fill their water containers.

Mohammed was on duty when he received news that his brother had been killed.

At Al-Shifa Hospital, Basir’s mother mourned her son: “My darling, my baby. My darling, my life. I hope I did not fall short with him.”His voice breaking as he spoke, Dr. Al-Boursh told Drop Site: “The occupation targeted him in his tent. He was only meters away from me. It killed my son before my eyes. This oppressive occupation tore him in half with modern missiles. This is the occupation.”

Yasmin Al-Boursh, Basir’s aunt, said: “Every day, we lose our youth. Every day, we lose our children. Every day, we lose our women.”

“Little by little, we will all be gone. There is almost no one left,” she added. “Who is left? Who is left? No one is left.”

Basir’s killing comes nearly three years after Dr. Al-Boursh’s 13-year-old daughter, Jinan, was killed in an Israeli strike in December 2023. Dr. Al-Boursh was wounded and suffered fractures in the same attack.
