Of course Chris, there’s years to go and nothing is agreed until everything is agreed. But. This is a very material change in the weather and that should cause a pretty significant reappraisal of what’s possible.

In my view, when you narrow to those three choices, a combination of the inevitable balance of obligations combined with the greater consequentiality of rule taking means you end up at rejoin. And I think (to my surprise) that’s where he is.

One interesting consequence of Burnham’s truth-telling today on Brexit, and plan to set out what I hope will be a path to rejoin, is that Farage will be forced back onto what is now - funnily enough - his least favourite subject. Let’s see him defend his inheritance in detail.

Relatedly, I continue to think that UK (re)joining the EU over the next 10 years is a very really possibility. Indeed, it *is*. And yet it is very under discussed as to how that might actually happen. People seem to either accept it as some sort of deterministic truth or just dismiss it.

It's characteristic of the Brexit debate that, after a decade of arguing about it, the leader of the Conservative Party doesn't appear to know what the single market is & can't be arsed to find out. She seems to have a vague idea it's "a free trade area" that got mixed up with "all the other stuff".

At the strong request of the United States Military, and for National Security purposes, I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch, planned since the Civil War Era many years ago, at the Receptive Circle adjoining the Arlington Memorial Bridge, into a top grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch, to house, store, and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, plus Snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage. There will be no facility like this anywhere in the World.
Out of the 59 top cities and Capitals, Washington, D.C., IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD THAT DOES NOT HAVE A TRIUMPHAL ARCH, but it will now and, by far, the greatest of them all! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

The only 4 constituencies where rejoining the EU wasn’t the preferred option were those of Lee Anderson, Farage, Tice and Lowe. In those 4, the top answer was ‘don’t know’. Confirming that Brexit has no real support at all. Not surprising for a total shitshow. And makes red lines seem very silly.
