I spent yesterday plotting this very detailed image. Regular paper didn't hold up to the image's many overlapping strokes unless I used a ballpoint, which shed ink in a distracting way. In the end, Yupo paper provided the best result. Amazing detail/tonal gradation. 🔥 #PenPlotter #CreativeCoding
A photo of a pen plot of a physics simulation gone wrong. There are many overlapping black lines that seem to move chaotically across the page, while darker regions seem to form an abstract pattern of loops and curves.

Prompt for Genuary day 25 was "One line that may or may not intersect itself" For this I decided to learn about Hilbert curves; fractal space-filling curves that do not intersect themselves. R code is here: gist.github.com/georgemsavva... #genuary2025 #genuary #genuary25 #rtistry

Day 19 of #genuary, Op Art Code: github.com/gkaramanis/a... #genuary19 #genart
An optical illusion artwork featuring a distorted grid pattern. Small squares are arranged in rows and columns, but appear to ripple and wave across the surface due to subtle positional shifts. The squares alternate between black and white grey, creating a moiré-like effect.

Op art for #genuary19. A moire effect caused by light grey nearly invisible lines under the dark black waves. Plus the varying density giving the impression of depth. #genuary #genuary2025 #rtistry #mathart.

#genuary17 prompt: "What if pi=4?" Well, one possibility is that we are governed by the maximums metric, since here a circle with diameter 1 has circumference 4. I give you: circles, bisectors, ellipses, lines, hyperbolas, a voronoi complex and trellipses in the said metric. #GENUARY #genuary2025

I'd be very cautious applying these shrinkage methods just because a covariance matrix is "uncooperative" and you get more significant effects. The {corpcor} methods are meant for small n, large p problems, where covariance estimation is not possible or unstable otherwise.

Genuary Day 2: 'Layers upon layers upon layers'. Fifty layers in fact! #genuary #genuary2025 #genuary2 #rstats #mathart
A colourful mathematic artwork made of fifty layers of bitfield images, each at a different scale and with a different palette. Each layer is generated with random parameters, leading to a chaotic impression overall but each layer has repeating elements.

Spent the late afternoon doing paintings that turned out horribly, but it was still better than scrolling. Highly recommend putting some studio hours in your calendar. Make something. Learn a new skill. Get off the screen and get messy.
