Sat down with @davidimel.com and @lopatto.bsky.social to talk about all the things the Al oligarchs get wrong about living life. We get philosophical about inconvenience, effort, and why sometimes 3 hour text messages should actually be a podcast.

What's up nerds. I've got a Pixel 11 Pro series review for you. TLDR: I love Rambler, Camera Looks and Magic Capture. The other AI features work... sometimes... when you have a scenario that probably only happens to people that live in San Francisco. GIFT LINK: shorturl.at/r8mUd

The Pixel 11 Pro is a great phone, no thanks to its flashiest new features

Forget HiLight and Proactive Assistance. The Pixel 11 Pro is at its best with focused new tools that actually work.

A lot of consumers are carrying around old iPhones and cheap point-and-shoots from the early aughts to get a simpler, less processed, and (to their eye) better look for their photos. The Pixel 11’s new Camera Looks feature is Google’s response to this growing trend. Read more from @davidimel.com:

Google is making the Pixel cameras better by making them worse

Google’s new Camera Looks feature will do less computational photography — and that’s a great thing.

I know Apple probably made notifications come in and out from the left like this in iOS 27 because of the new centered Siri touch target, but I really hope they change it before public release. It’s very awkward.

I think Google did a great job with The Android show this year. They’re clearly trying to add personality and style to their execs and they’re doing a great job with it. Additionally pretty much all of these updates are really great. Very big year for Android.

With respect to Google, the entire reason people are flocking to old digicams over their phones is because HDR does not equal good. Not everything needs to be a mid-tone. Contrast gives an image pop. I feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills since the iPhone 7

I have a theory that Instagram finally made a proper iPad app because the iPhone Fold/Ultra is going to switch to the iPad version when you open it and Apple requested consistency in experience.
