And this is almost an aside in the story, but also absolutely bonkers. Meta claimed Zuck as a "researcher" to get a $355 million tax break on his $4.1 billion stock-based compensation.

Sadly the EDPB's final GDPR-DSA interplay guidelines say nothing about Recital 68 DSA stating, in no uncertain terms, that consent must be obtained for the processing of personal data for the purpose of ad targeting. Missed opportunity IMO.
