I've been part of two VC-backed exits (one as co-founder), advised many startups, and think building things (for-profit or not) is good for the builders and for society. The idea that the best thing I can give my kid at 16 is "access to a VC network" and learning from "operators" is depraved.

Guest lectured for “AI and Society” at Berkeley today. Was fun. One student asked (roughly) “if we know this is going to change society, why don’t we just plan what we want and build the better society?” I suggested that could literally be a thesis.
