Ah yes. That’s the Tom Watson I remember. The one who had a mob follow the Lib Dem candidate around in the Birmingham Hodge Hill by-election, labelling her “Nokia Davies” and alleging she wanted to put up phone masts everywhere to give children cancer despite marketing himself as the pro-tech MP.

Our local paper is known as the Oxford Fail, the toxic clickbait factory of Osney Mead (due to be regenerated). The penultimate paragraph is why. The hospitals are well away from traffic filters. Needless to say, the lazy hack didn’t bother checking his facts before fabricating disinformation.
Misinformation about Oxford’s traffic filters from miserable anti-Oxford rag, the Oxford Fail.

Oxfordshire residents: please register for your free permits if you haven’t already. We have achieved a lot in making Oxford cleaner, less congested and a better environment: the traffic filters trial is an important step to finding out what works best. And I’ll carry on listening to people.

The other mystery of #ldconf. Who thought of the anchors that were extensively used in the backdrop? Hardly matched the official guff about progress under Davey. Was someone having a giggle?

1/2 I held my head in my hands yesterday, when I heard Daisy Cooper say: “some of us came into this party carrying The Orange Book, while others came here under the banner of the SDP”. The SDP were substantially to the right of the old Liberals on a whole range of social & political issues.

There are two issues here. The Gallos Brook campaign refers to highly disruptive utility work across Heyford Park. Barratt Redrow’s gaslighting response belies citizen testing results that highlight PFAS contamination when they have clearly done no testing. This is a planning enforcement issue.

Oh dear. The main reason pubs sit vacant is because an asset-stripper has shut it, often deliberately running it down. Community pubs always work financially - for a reason. Pubs are community assets where people come together to talk and interact. Planning law can make asset-stripping unviable.
