I LOVE how @propublica.org dealt with official comment here, editorially and stylistically.
The Trump administration says none of this is happening.

"DHS is NOT arresting U.S. citizens by mistake." "There are no 'indiscriminate' stops." Allegations of "racial profiling are disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE." "The pattern is NOT of law enforcement using force." "ICE does not zip tie or restrain children."

But that is precisely what is happening, and at a far larger scale than previously reported.

Vaccines are so “terrible” that they can stop viruses in their tracks. Imagine being so committed to the anti-vaccine narrative that you forget what vaccines actually do: train the immune system to recognize and fight dangerous infections and save millions of lives in the process. Facts matter.
Trump supporter: "I'm totally against vaccines. Absolutely, 100%. Every single one of them. They're poison" Jason Selvig: "What about Polio vaccine?"

Politico reports that City councilmembers are mad at Mayor Mamdani's choice for the head of the Board of Standards and Appeals, John Mangin, because Mangin helped write the housing ballot proposals that diluted their power and because he wrote a mean law review article in 2014. "The mounting opposition to Mangin puts councilmembers in a politically awkward spot, as they appear to be rejecting a nominee committed to ramping up affordable housing construction at a time of skyrocketing rents in the city. That could open councilmembers up to criticism that they are embracing NIMBY talking points." Yep!

Except for religious studies, the graduates of these "loan ineligible" majors are disproportionately women. Fans of this policy have probably never considered that social worker, cosmetician, teachers aide, etc might be low-paying jobs *because* women do them. newrepublic.com/post/213446/...
The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that the Education Department has finalized a rule that will force schools to prove that the loans students are taking out are paying off.

Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music, and cosmetic certification programs will be hit the hardest. For-profit programs will also be hit particularly hard.
