And on that basis - yeah, I think it’s acceptable to hold one’s nose and vote for them. As an example: my rep said some shitty stuff on sports last year but hasn’t gone farther afaik and hasn’t voted for any anti-trans bills.

I think this ask is more than fair IMO. The transphobia from Dem candidates mostly centers on sports and is mostly of the “my consultants are telling me to waffle on this stuff” variety. (I would personally put Talarico in this camp.) For these people, I’d vote, then push like hell.

So I’ve agonized over this election because of all the transphobia coming from politicians ostensibly on our side. I’ve landed on the position Erin In The Morning lands on in this very well articulated post - voting Dem with the exception of the most egregiously anti-trans (Turek, Kaptur, etc)

Until DVDs, most old kids shows just disappeared after their initial syndicated runs ended. Things like Thundercats got additional reruns later on, but those were exceptions. I bring this up a lot, but Fox Kids literally stopped showing the first half of Power Rangers Turbo once the cast switched.

Even with the current enshittified state of streaming, it is far, far easier to find and watch old cartoons and kids shows legally these days. With a few exceptions, you can pretty much access most 80s and 90s cartoons legally (or semi-legally for the ones in limbo like Eek The Cat) for free

I think a lot about how Eric Bauza's first major role was as Stimpy in Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon. Going from arguably one of the worst TV cartoons ever made to *the* modern voice of Bugs Bunny was a phenomenal achievement.
