Middle aged women: DO NOT GET VACCINES IN YOUR SHOULDER. Have them inject a bit lower. There’s a connection between shoulder injections and serious shoulder injury in women aged 40-60, but most Drs still inject in the shoulder. I personally know *four* women who had this. Spread the word!

Put my hand on a bison rubbing stone today. It’s been sitting here since it was dropped by a retreating glacier at the end of the last ice age. The sides are smoothed from generations of bison rubbing on it. Good to think about that now and then

While both nori & wakame are edible seaweed, they are separated by >1 billion (!) years of evolution. Nori is red algae, which acquired its chloroplasts via primary endosymbiosis; wakame is brown algae, which acquired its chloroplasts from another algae. They are about divergent as human vs yeast.

Cool new paper! We have known for a long time that mating reduces lifespan in females. Here. we show that producing a small amount of "bad" protein surprisingly increases lifespan, *particularly* in mated females. academic.oup.com/g3journal/ar...
