For months, I’ve been raising the alarm about the loss of staff at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and how it is imperiling their work protecting our wildlife and public lands. In December, 25% of the agency was gone. Now, it’s nearly 40%. But FWS still refuses to address the staffing crisis.

A sea turtle has made its nest on the West Coast for the first time on record, laying eggs on a Southern California beach. The turtles are usually found in tropical waters, but a warming ocean by California has led to more unusual animal sightings.
