My boy was 26 yesterday ❤️ we’ve been together since he was 6 months old. He’s as unphotogenic as ever, but his heart is the most true. Love you Cirrus ❤️

Bit stressed & sad today, my dog is not doing great with the changes in our lives & I’m finding figuring out the options hard. Maybe it’s a hint to get going more with Pain Coaching but I love my 10hrs at the community shop as it roots me in my community otherwise I get too lonely. Sad.
Deceptively sad white long dog with his head resting on my hand.

Came home after a shitty morning to find a friend had bought me a present; a treadle hen feeder! Rural gift giving 🥰 I’m on a low income & trying to literally carve out a new home in a bramble patch & my 3 inherited hens have been joined by rats but my budget feeder wasn’t helping deter. Touched 🥰

Took my friend José & her son in law to a hospital appt in Newport, Gwent. Found this amazing tea rooms in a park to wait at. José told me lots of old WWII stories (she’s 100!) it was marvellous as she was on top form ❤️
Beautiful tea rooms in a red and brown brick building with a fancy glass conservatory on the right.

I made a dead hedge. We have the old railway posts and willow posts (hoping some will become living fence posts). Great way to get rid of my brash & smaller branches. Making a space to live out of rubble & brambles. No where to rent in my rural area if you are single low income. It’s 🤞🙈💪🏽🙏🏼

Recovery (from pain in my case) is a privilege. So much has to support it. At base, a sense of safety is key. So much harder in poverty, in stress, in fear, in loss, and not in control. I was lucky. I’m grateful. I had to work hard, but I was further up the ladder than many. We need to notice.

From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING
Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought.
To be led by a coward is to be controlled
by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool is to be led
by the opportunists who control the fool.
To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen.
To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies.
To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.

This is an absolute travesty of injustice just hiding in our midst. Often prisoner are in a catch 22 as “good mental health” becomes a requirement of release. HOW can you have stable MH if you are on an indefinite stay? It’s obscene. Labour did this, labour should undo it.

Write that thing. Pluck it outta your soul with rusty pliers. Hit the keyboard like it owes you money. Write whenever, wherever you can. Tell your story. Make the words dance. Whatever you want—a novel, a short story, an agent, a movie—it all starts with the writing.

"I don't think I'm allowed to kill something because I am frightened." —Nikki Giovanni 💔 #poem #poems #poetry
I killed a spider
Not a murderous brown recluse
Nor even a black widow
And if the truth were told this
Was only a small spider
Sort of papery spider
Who should have run
When I picked up the book
But she didn't
And she scared me
And I smashed her

I don't think
I'm allowed

To kill something

Because I am

Frightened.

A quote from Jill Kent, Head of Department (Allied Health Professions) at Teesside University, saying: "Working together, we ensure the future workforce gain valuable experience to understand how to support our communities, as well as develop and deliver high quality research to inform practice."
