Well, I'm officially an asshole dog parent. Took advantage of Jessy's relaxed state to clip her nails and ended up quicking both her back dewclaws. 😭 I was more upset than she was though, so that's something I guess. Feel horrible though. My poor baby 😭

My darling doggo has a routine vet appt today, but because she's over protective of me she gets the 'chill out' protocol - basically all the sedating drugs known to man. Since she's usually asleep this time of day, so far all it appears to be doing is making her gassy and the room smell horrible. 😷

Slept poorly, came upstairs to far too many people taking, had a friend come over to grab stuff and then had to go to the big box store for groceries. Came home to unload it all & repackage stuff and everyone was underfoot in my kitchen and ahhhhh too many people and too much noise today 😭

Gave my dog a surprise (to her) bath & the look she gave me when she realized? Pretty sure she was trying to laser-eyes me into a pile of ash. 🤣 Her own fault for being stinky, tho. I’ve seen some people making comments about not caring about the Kennedy Center, or even wanting it gone, and if you’re not local, maybe sit this one out. It may be an abstraction to you, but to me it’s where I want to take my kids someday to see the symphony, the ballet, touring shows, etc

Speaking of nervous system stuff, my therapist wants to try EMDR with me. 💀 She wants me to write up my 'trauma timeline', and wow that just feels overwhelming and not something I want to do at all. But it has good stats as useful therapy, so ugh. I guess. Anyone have experience with it?

Dad's deathiversary is tomorrow by date, but today by feelings. Like, I don't think I'll ever forget that my uncle died on a Friday, and dad the following Tuesday after we took him off life support. The date feels irrelevant to me, it's the four days of the week that reign supreme in my mind.

Pegging me as Nevada is hilarious to me, because I've never been further west than Dallas, grew up near the OH/PA border just north of WV, and now live in the mid-Atlantic. You can see that in the narrow strip of similarity on the east coast. These tests are interesting to me because

Dialect map from mydialect.us saying that the poster's dialect is most like someone from Nevada, at 45% of answers matching that area. Which is funny, because the poster is from Ohio and currently lives in the Mid-Atlantic and has never been further west that Dallas.
