If they're really unified under Schumer then we're fucked. It isn't party leadership that's leading the predicted electoral wins - it's a populace who are fed up with what the current administration is doing in their name.

Schumer, at least, is ignoring the haters as Democrats strive to flip at least four seats needed to win the majority.

“Our caucus is totally unified,” he said at a press conference last week. “We’re in great shape. Everyone is really very, very pleased with where we are today compared to where we were 20 months ago under our leadership, and we’re fighting hard. We’re on the edge of taking back the Senate.”

My wish is for your pup's appointment to go as smoothly! Jessy's still feeling the after effects (her ears usually point the same direction), but so much better than her getting so riled up she's a danger to others.

So, SO drunk. So much so that she came away with the very first good girl bandana she's ever earned at a vet appointment. Usually they bring her back to me, them huffing & puffing & covered in her fur. Today they got 90%of her exam done with me in the room! 😂

Pegging me as Nevada is hilarious to me, because I've never been further west than Dallas, grew up near the OH/PA border just north of WV, and now live in the mid-Atlantic. You can see that in the narrow strip of similarity on the east coast. These tests are interesting to me because

Took Nu!Baby Izzy with me to get nails done for the beach. The color selection process confounded him, poor lad. Then he asked for half off the pedicure, but they massaged his stump and painted the hoof for him. He's feeling pretty bonita, and wonders why we don't do this more often.

Nu!Baby Izzy and Grumpy Bear Izzy came to the beach with me. Their first big trip anywhere! They met a new turtle friend, then went swimming. Grumpy Bear Izzy still looked grumpy by the end of the day, but he had fun. Nu!Baby Izzy is already asleep - poor guy got all tuckered out swimming all day!

Farm drama! Three horses of unknown ownership showed up at our rental this morning. Cue the farm owner & two Amish trying to corral them - with one of the Amish driving a golf cart and another driving a small tractor. Pretty horses - hope they find their owner soon.

It's dad's birthday today. Working with mom on a church fundraiser in dad's honor, making pies for sale. Dad LOVED pie & always said someone making you a pie showed their love for you. A friend of his made the attached for his memorial, and it's both cringe and endearing. Miss you, daddy.

Our true destination? The Air & Space museum! Jack wanted to steal a plane (they'd never miss one, there's so many!), but Niblet kept him firmly in hand. He thought the Spock ears were cool, until we told him he looked like a rabbit in them. Astronaut ice cream was fine, though he prefers the real.

We went into DC! It was more of an adventure than planned - stations were closed, necessitating a bus transfer - but we got there eventually. First stop: Smithsonian carousel! We went twice, because Niblet and Jack loved it so much. Then we had lunch, which Niblet kindly shared with Jack.

He ended the day at the petting zoo, trying not to get eaten by goats. There were a few close calls, especially when one got out and was jumping for food. It wasn't the demon goat, though - Izzy really didn't like him for some reason. Maybe the eyes? 🤣 After that it was home again, tired but happy.

Finally after a long day of walking and doing, he had a good night's rest. 😴 Next day it was off on more adventures! First to look at a tower, then to scare off the ducks from a pond. Then his favorite part of the day: the rescue zoo! Woody threw food at us; we were grateful it wasn't poop.

I hate living in a place with an HOA, and ours has been especially nit-picky this past year. Board elections are soon, and while I'd love to see it go up in flames, I do appreciate this person throwing their hat into the ring. 😆

Attention to Detail: I can spot a non-approved shade of beige from three streets away. Time Management: I have the time. So much time. Time to notice things. Time to document things. Time to send friendly reminder emails at 6:47am.
Passion: While others see "a slightly overgrown hedge," I see chaos. Where they see
"kids' chalk on a driveway," I see the beginning of a societal collapse.
Communication Skills: I'm not afraid of difficult conversations, like explaining why you garden gnome violates (for example) Section 7, Paragraph 3, Subsection B of our covenant.
My Vision: Together, we can create a neighborhood where every mailbox is regulation- complaint, window fixtures are uniform and not paper, every trash can is hidden by Tuesday and Friday evenings, fences are not falling over, and where the phrase "but it's my property" is met with a knowing chuckle and a citation.
I may not have actual HOA board experience, but I have something better: opinions and the free time to enforce them to make our community great again.
Vote for me because someone needs to care, and that someone is me!
Seriously though, we live in a wonderful community, and I am committed to keeping it that way. I look forward to collaborating with the board and our residents to address current challenges thoughtfully, ensuring our shared standards are met so that our neighborhood continues to flourish.

Insult to injury: I stopped to give her a much needed bath on the way home. She was SO drunk & I barely got her back into the car 🥴 She's chilling in front of the heater & sleeping it off now, so hopefully my dog will be back to her neurotic self tomorrow.
