A server running in your browser

How to use a repurposed service worker, fetch(), broadcastChannel, notification and idb-keyval to run a server in the browser. And how it is really easy for other developers to start coding applications based on the server you've created. Cheap and without maintenance updates.

What is it - an example
    How it came about
Why? The advantages: An extra thread, separation of code, developer friendly, no server costs and no server software updates
The different parts you can use - How they work and what are their limitations
The idea is not new - Browser server by mafintosh - Mathias Buus
A more realistic server example - A search engine

Notes:
I've worked for a while to actually get all the different parts working properly. And got them working some weeks ago. I'm working on making the examples presentation ready.

The reason why I tried to figure this out was to make a better search engine for Stortinget - the Norwegian parliament. That work will also continue, maybe I will have an extra search engine example.
