Only saw the one Nankeen, but usually lots of white faced herons, egrets and spoonbills, generally lots of pelicans and uncountable numbers of ibis. 🤞bird flu doesn’t take off.

It is compelling viewing. Couple of years younger than me and fascinating to look at personal and societal change. Extraordinary lack of care for little kids, but people willingly go on reality TV. Australia also had Life at 1,(etc) which was pretty sad, not sure how much flow up there’s been.

Still not convinced that a majority of attempts at offsets are meaningfully mitigating the harms some claim they do, in fact in many cases it appears they are very much helping to fuel the harms, on account of laws of physics, chemistry, and ecological realities on a finite planet.

Ravens (crows) clock up to where the Bogong moths are near Mt. Kosciousko. This explains all the hundreds of crows I saw - and heard up at Thredbo on my last visit. That is very satisfying to know as I'd been wondering about that. Related: I'm sure there was a scene like this in LOTR!
