Did you see the movie? Barbie has a routine she has to follow exactly every single day or everything is ruined. Barbie asks questions that others think are inappropriate. Barbie has big feelings she doesn’t always know how to deal with. Barbie has always been autistic.

What jumped out to me first is that the doll is not looking straight on, like other Barbies, because many autistic people struggle with maintaining eye contact. For me, it feels like looking into the sun.

For people outside Minneapolis: North is the historically Black part of the city. It's been heavily disinvested from, gutted by the 2008 mortgage crisis, and got hit by a tornado which did damage you can still see from aerial photos. It's no mistake ICE is going after more vulnerable populations.
