The Cornell report on the Future of the American University is a disaster, mainstreaming and endorsing profoundly reactionary right-wing diagnoses of higher education that have no business in a serious report on what higher ed is or should become.
Compare, for example, the Progressive Policy Institute’s report on The Distortion of American Studies
with a similar study of American political science from the Goldwater Institute: Richard D. Kahlenberg
and Lief Lin, “The Distortion of American Studies: How the Field’s Leading Journal Has Embraced a
Worldview as Slanted as Donald Trump’s,” Progressive Policy Institute, January 22, 2026,

I saw #SchoolGirls, a retelling of #MeanGirls that was set in an African boarding school, years ago. The play had to do with colorism, colonialism, and there was New Edition music— they had Candy Girl and a few others. Wonder if songs were chosen for location. Anyway, it's in NYC now. #BlackSky

not that you should expect anything more than rank idiocy from this pair of racists, but the idea that whiteness means a "high trust" society of "social cohesion" is some of the stupidest shit i have ever heard. these people live in a fantasy land that you could dispel by simply opening a book.

I know I'm harping on this, but I need non-Black folks to understand this distinction: If you *properly acknowledge* other cultures & integrate elements into your own ALREADY EXISTING culture to create something inventive, that's APPRECIATION. If you outright copy/paste, that's APPROPRIATION.
