I just learned that the Japanese word for "knowledge" (知識) and the word for "trivia/snippet of knowledge" (豆知識) is only distinguished by the addition of the kanji for "beans" (豆) in front of knowledge. trivia is just a lil bean of knowledge. That's so cute.

I don't recall where I found this, but I'd say this looks about right.
Two scales illustrating the social environment composed by men. The first, prefaced with "I've learned that a lot of guys visualize our social environment like this" shows over 95% of the line to depict "good men", and a small bit to illustrate "crazed evil men".
The second line, prefaced with "But it's actually closer to this", is labeled as follows: at the 1/8 mark, "heroic men who will intervene" another eighth "well-meaning men who underestimate the issue", the next line, at about halfway, reads "men who think certain women deserve it (but aren't active predators)" , the line after that, "men who passively enjoy/consume/encourage predation", at the 3/4 mark, "textbook predators we're all afraid of" and a final mark nearly at the extreme end of the scale, labeled "monsters so cruel we can't even fathom them".

I think a lot of the neurodivergent experience is being punished for asking questions so we instead decide to infer meanings and intentions and patterns based on context and cues, but because we're neurotypical, that process is extremely prone to error. so we get punished for it anyway later.

I'm not a fictional character and these aren't Easter Eggs. The way that non-binary folk choose to present is not, ipso facto, indicative of a journey towards some other trans identity. It can ebb and flow as much as feels right to them, or based on whatever compromises they have to make.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

See this? It's called a non-inferiority trial. It compares the new vaccine with the current vaccines to see if the new vaccine does better. This new vaccine did. Placebo-controlled trials are not needed to test most new vaccines. Demanding them will only reduce vaccine access. Which is the point.

A new analysis by Stanford epidemiologists predicts that measles could become endemic again in the US in the next 20 years. This would be a catastrophic failure and a result of anti-vax propaganda. Measles is a vaccine-preventable disease that was declared eliminated in the US in 2000.
Scientists Find Measles Likely to Become Endemic in the US Over Next 20 Years
A new study forecasts more than 850,000 measles cases over the next 25 years if US vaccination rates stay the same. Millions of infections are possible if rates drop.

Breast cancer diagnoses rose by over 300% between 1973 and 1992. Was there a breast cancer epidemic?! NO. Mammograms were implemented for screening in 1976. PREVALENCE is a function of being able to correctly diagnose something. This is also about autism.

If H5N1 starts spreading human to human, we need to detect it fast to stop a pandemic. To detect H5N1 spread between humans, we need to test people at high exposure risk. To test those people, we need to ensure they aren’t risking being permanently disappeared to a foreign torture prison.

A pastel colored graphic comparing the cons of real chickens versus the pros of toy chicks. Text is as follows:
Real Chickens
Catch and transmit Bird Flu
Have sharp beaks and talons
Need lots of space and special housing to protect them from predators (and wild birds carrying
Bird Flu)
Poop a lot
Even the hens can be very loud
Are prone to numerous ailments that require treatment from specialist vets
Stuffed Chicks
Don't catch or spread Bird Flu
Require no space at all
Soft and cute
Live forever
Don't poop
Don't eat
Don't peck you
Don't cluck loudly and screech
Never need to go to the vet

Autistic humans are taught early that our needs are inconvenient. So we learn to shrink. To mask. To make ourselves easier to be around. But poor boundaries aren’t just about saying yes too often. They’re about abandoning ourselves before anyone else can. Unlearning that isn’t easy.

Close-up portrait of a tiny bird with extraordinary iridescent plumage in brilliant emerald green that transitions to deep cobalt blue on its crown. The bird's feathers have a distinctive scale-like appearance that catches the light, creating a metallic sheen. It has a slender silver-white beak, a small dark eye, and darker wings with hints of purple. Perched on a thin twig against a soft, neutral beige-green background, the bird is captured in profile, showing off its perfect proportions and jewel-like coloration.
