Wildlife Inventory: no rabbits, but 2 deer! 58°F, calm winds, overcast gradually clearing as the walk progressed.

Wildlife Inventory: 1 rabbit, 1 opossum. Spotted the opossum twice, actually: 1st when they were crossing the street about 10 yards in front of me, and afterwards, when they had meandered about 2 blocks closer to the river. 70°F and muggy; calm winds, fully overcast skies.

Wildlife Inventory: 11 rabbits, and one distant Mystery Critter, its eyes too widely spaced to be a rabbit, and (unless it was in a depression) too short to be a fox. (May have been the opossum.) 62°F, calm winds, mostly cloudy skies with a few clear breaks in between; air a bit damp.

Part of the reinstall of the basement bulkhead door. If this was plaster and not cement, I'd be ashamed of it. But this should do. It's under a tarp as it's going to rain tomorrow (of course).

A patched concrete foundation that will eventually be supporting a very heavy steel door. Wooden beams provide a frame or mold.

Other side of the concrete patching on the stairs/door. There was a sizeable hole in the upper right corner until today.

On this anniversary of September 11, I don't only recall the horror, but also the mercy. Because when that act of terrorism destroyed lives, buildings, and peace of mind, our neighbors to the north opened their doors, their airports, and their hearts. Don't forget Operation Yellow Ribbon.

Spent the afternoon attempting to remove/reinstall a bulkhead door. Evidence found of improper wood (not pressure treated)used previously. Grrr.

A hole in poured concrete. Maybe too much aggregate was used, but concrete should not yield to brushes or fingernails. You cannot see the depth of this hole, but it's several inches.

Mud,rotted wood, and crumbing concrete where the steel door was previously laid.
