It’s been two years since Ontario Place West Island was destroyed for a planned private spa. Hundreds of trees were cut down - here’s a snapshot of the many species who lost habitat. 🧵

Aside from the streetcars, a rare sighting of one of few legendary TTC buses. GM New Look aka the Fishbowl. Countless found memories of the rear end "couch" seating and the sliding windows. No AC but all the freeze that 5inch opening could offer. We never knew how good we had it. #TTC #TOphoto

In 2019, Harry Sanders wrote for The Sprawl about an old Calgary violin shop that got demolished that year. A lovely elegy capturing a forgotten bit of the city's past. Today I republished it in his honour. (Harry died on Sunday, at the age of 59.)
