Doubling down with a photo that shows you were well aware it was a memorial. Very good. The issue is the phrase “drug user liberation”. Supposedly normalizes drug use in the context of, again, a memorial that very explicitly broadcasts grief in the wake of deadly overdoses.

This is a memorial, “I miss you still”, that was installed at the end of a funeral procession. The “weird art” is a telephone that encourages people to dial in the number of dead people so you can process your grief by speaking to “the wind”. Many types of memorials have them.

I just got off the phone with the owner of Finch…despite the fact we saved the store from zoning challenges, the landlord is doubling the rent… so they’re throwing in the towel. Last day of business is today. Their sister store, Martin, will close at the end of the weekend.
