Day Eleven of Halloween Advent 🎃 Edgar Allan Poe I love the 1953 animated film of The Tell-Tale Heart. The Old Man doll I made was inspired by it. Doll and sculpted portrait inspired by The Oval Portrait. The Raven was the inspiration for the final doll. #halloweenadvent
A doll of the Old Man from The Tell-Tale Heart sits on a brick ledge with a black and yellow blanket. A book 'The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe' sits beside him.A doll of the wife from The Oval Portrait sits on a brick ledge with gold framed sculpt of a woman's head. A book 'The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe' sits to the left of them. Faux ivy is draped over the ledge.A doll inspired by The Raven hangs on a door. Bird wings have pieces of the poem attached, the doll is wearing a bird mask and there is a heart cameo on the doll's breast.

Day Eleven of Halloween Advent 🎃 H P Lovecraft Inspired 'There's A Shoggoth In My Bath', a self published mixed media art picture book. I love the weird Dreamlands, so I made a cat doll as I imagined them to be in that realm. Also made Esotetic Order Of Dagon priest. #halloweenadvent

Day Ten of Halloween Advent 🎃 M R James A Warning To The Curious is my favorite tale, I created a William Ager doll inspired by it. Also have created Mrs Mothersole (with rabbit form and spider familiar) from The Ash-Tree and the gypsy girl from Lost Hearts. #halloweenadvent
A skull headed doll is leaning against a tree, finger pointed at the camera, a single eye in the head.A female doll with rope around neck nestled into a tree trunk, with a spider sculpture sitting below her. A case of childhood abuse creating c-ptsd, with secondary infections of major depression and general anxiety that several moves, and toxic people have pinged off. And then horrible loss, living in a crappy town and social isolation. Bless my art and my other pup for giving me something to focus on!

Day Nine of Halloween Advent 🎃 Great Expectations by Charles Dickens I love so much of his work, but there is so much in this gothic tale that touches on so many themes that resonates. I made this Miss Havisham in 2025. Her bridal veil is actually made from a real bridal veil. #halloweenadvent
Miss Havisham doll sits on a doll couch, thst sits on a square of faux greenery, that sits on a yellow chair.
She is in a white bridal gown, with a bridal veil on her grey/white yarn hair.
There is faux greenery draped around the chair.

Day Eight of Halloween Advent 🎃 Susan Hill Especially The Woman In Black. I would love to see the stage play some day, loved the 1989 movie, which this doll's design is based on - that face is tragic and terrifying. British supernatural at its most tragic and chilling. #halloweenadvent
A doll version of The Woman In Black, wearing black hat and dress sits on a doll couch with a copy of 'The Woman In Black A Ghost Story Susan Hill' to the left. The couch sits on a square of faux greenery on a yellow chair.

The harvest... Too good. Anyone with a lick of sense avoided the branches heavy with fruit. Fields swaying with produce could rot where they stood. All who ate this forbidden crop would become part of the walking dispersal of spores that rotted the living from the brain out. #horrorwriterschat

#HorrorWritersChat Q3 The harvest was good this year. Too good. Alice had really outdone herself, I’m sorry I ever doubted. My initial sympathy for those crinkle-faced things melted away with another scrape of the plate. Turns out the key to good mandrake is to wait until their first emotions.

It wasn't the bumper crop of wheat or corn that surprised us. Nor the wagons full of potatoes that we pulled from the black soil. It was the gourds. We hadn't planted them, but there they were, squat and mishapen, looking too much like a face. And that face was screaming. #HorrorWritersChat

The Harvent this year, #HorrorWritersChat, was good. Too good. It seems the townsfolk stopped running. They accepted their fate and no longer fear our extra sharp scythes. Time to move on to another town where the people still value their lives. You can taste the desperate hope in every cutlet.

Pumpkins big as houses. Too big to harvest, so we hacked off pieces with axes, froze it for soup for winter. The rest we left rotting in the fields. Until the bright crisp day where they broke open from the inside. And the pumpkin men emerged with axes of their own. #horrorwriterschat

Q3: #HorrorWritersChat The harvest was good this year. Too good. People came from several towns over just to buy wheat. The townsfolk seemed content and why shouldn't they? It wasn't THEIR son they buried in the field. It wasn't THEIR screaming watering the soil. Still, there was always next year.
