this is going to be really confusing having multiple parties that can have the same abbrevations as TV channels. (is Global's BC1 channel still around?)

Lots of speculation that CentreBC and the BC Conservatives are merging A statement from CentreBC's president makes it seem like maybe that's not the thing? Peter Milobar, who just became CentreBC's leader, is holding a press conference with BC Conservative interim leader Lorne Doerkson #bcpoli

I'm not saying that David Eby is going to call a snap provincial election sometime in the next couple of weeks. But I will say the amount of speculation about it has exploded in the last 24 hours, and a lot of plugged in people have shifted from idle gossip to saying it's being considered.

My most western alienation take is how stunned I am that there's no national conversation about the fact that BC's right wing party is imploding in front of our very eyes, and there's a solid chance that its leader may be criminally charged for attempting to bribe her MLAs.

The real problem is that the US/Canada Trade War is the top story in Canada, but it’s barely being covered in the USA. Check out CNN, Fox News, NY Times, etc; you have to scroll down a fair ways to even see it mentioned, let alone how the Americans tried to fuck us at the last minute.

Alberta's referendum in October will include at least 10 questions. Each gets a **separate ballot**. That means Elections Alberta will print 45 million (!!) ballots. After polls close, by law, it has 48 hours to count all of them. It's currently recruiting 60,000 workers to pull it all off.

Liberals easily have their majority.... but notice the drop in the CPC vote in all 3 seats compared to 2025. Also notice the rise in the NDP vote in the TO seats. Very rare for the NDP to do well in by-elections where they don't have a chance of winning.
