Hm. Conversations I’ve had with insiders at Netflix are all about how any menu system can’t remotely compete with linear TV - so many disadvantages - and that plenty of programmes and whole genres can only survive on a platform that doesn’t rely on an algorithmic / front page priority system.

I am open to suggestions on this one. I've done all the basic turn everything off and on again stuff. The bits that connect to the wifi router and the boiler itself are showing as operational in the app, so I'm assuming the problem is in the thermostat.

Amazing, the "smart" thermostat which the plumber installed along with the boiler, without asking me if I wanted it, is now refusing to connect so we can't use the heating. The old thermostat never did this because it connected to the boiler WITH WIRES.

Most of AI (in business terms) is driven by a false belief that TECHNOLOGY is what drove the internet and telecommunications booms of the last two decades. Technology unlocked better communication and business processes. THOSE then drove the boom. Tech was a means to an end, not the end in itself.
