Hi-Octane (PS1) (1995) 1/2

Bullfrog's hastily made futuristic racing game, created during the development of Dungeon Keeper as a means to not leave more time to develop DK and give something to Electronic Arts to publish in the meantime. A WipEout clone with not a lot going for it, using the Magic Carpet engine, having some questionable framerates and the completely sneaky "solution" of giving all the hovercrafts the appearance of different stats, but making them all control the same, and apparently nobody noticed.

Here we have the KD-1 Speeder, kinda looking like a DeLorean from Back to the Future, shimming left and right as it's trying to recover from a hard right turn and into a straight road with lots of cubes overhead with gas station and gun symbols.

The chunky yellow Jugga (you can choose the color of your hovercraft by pressing up, so all of them always just have custom colors with the default being the white/silver one), struggling to take turns (or so it seems since all the stats are the same for every vehicle), going between some snowy rocks and toward a large L shaped signage.

The red trident-shaped Vampyr, a sleek and spiky hovercraft jumping off a ramp and looking at all the other speeders buzzing past it, looking like cute 90s colorful toys, each in their own M&M's colored styles as a dropship flies above them, waiting to pick up whichever vehicle inevitably crashes into the muddy rocks surrounding the track.

The DeLorean's evil brother with a pitch black paint, going through an ominously red tunnel as sparks start flying while the other racers use their machineguns at it, trying to reach the exit with the promise of clear blue skies above.

Reminder that if you let trans kids transition, they become happy, healthy adults. They don't regret it.

An excerpt from a study that reads "Based on this review, there is an extremely low prevalence of regret in transgender patients after GAS. We believe this study corroborates the improvements made in regard to selection criteria for GAS."

This is gonna sound like I'm an soft loser but I wish I didn't have to hate so many people. There's just so many freaks who want to hurt and kill my friends and people like us and, like, I can't NOT hate them for that. But it's exhausting. I'm tired of being so regularly outraged and fedposty.

fyi- trans people refusing to vote for anti-trans democrats are not “helping anti-trans republicans,” they’re not “waiting for the perfect candidate” either; what they are doing is not voting for their oppressor. instead of demanding trans votes, demand pro-trans candidates.

CyberSpeed (PS1) (1995) 1/3

The racing extravaganza of the future, presented by Worldscape Television, an in-universe broadcaster that shows CG commercials between races as a nice bonus to the bopping dance soundtrack, with an international cast of characters and their hovercrafts, in what is a very unique take on the WipEout formula, making the vehicles hang on a power beam above them like a cable car and being able to rotate 360 degrees around it as well as flip forward and backward for an extra look at who's behind you and maybe shoot a few lasers at them as a treat.

The awkward controls and the lack of sense of speed makes this early PS1 game a bit too clunky but the nice visuals, Amiga-style textures, backgrounds and music make it a nice game to try out for a bit.

Here we have a blue ship with two trapezoid orange engine exhausts piloted by Higuchi from Japan, racing down a futuristic halfpipe with a large metallic structure arching over the middle of the track.

Suave Frenchman Maurice with his thin moustache swinging around his wide, three-pronged pod with a pinup painting of a hot babe on the back fin as he approaches a green tunnel with a green ring of neon-green lights at the entrance and explosions blasting from the laser fire.

American blonde babe Anderson piloting a golden bird-like ship with black strips, hovering over the ocean as a giant fancy yacht towers in the distance.

A front POV of a cool red aerodynamic ship with two spikes in front, flying through a dark asteroid field with the purple space sparkling with stars in the background, piloted by Dre, a cool short haired dude with shades, flying very far from his homeland of Jamaica.
