I genuinely, honestly, don’t understand how it’s possible to ban/jail peaceful protesters campaigning for justice for Palestinians, or who are anti-monarchy, yet permit far right agitators to continue spewing hatred on X, which leads to actual harm and violence on our streets. How? Why?

But even in the unlikely scenario they achieve that, allies as well as enemies now have the measure of the risk the US can pose to them.

Adam Tickell, vice-chancellor of the University of Birmingham, said universities face an “almost existential challenge” and falling public support that requires a radical review of higher education funding. Judith Butler sussed people like Burchill out long ago…
Butler made the point that anti-trans feminists are allying with the right wing over their dislike of "gender" and transness, despite their seeming political differences.
"Sometimes [members of the anti-gender ideology movement] claim that 'sex'alone has scientific standing, but other times they appeal for divine mandates for masculine domination and difference. They don't seem to mind contradicting themselves," said Butler. "The trans exclusionary radical feminists and the so-called gender critical writers have also rejected the important work in feminist philosophy of science showing how culture and nature interact..
• in favor of a regressive and spurious form of biological essentialism. So they will not be part of the coalition that seeks to fight the anti-gender movement. The anti-gender ideology is one of the dominant strains of fascism in our times. Butler also

Marco Rubio, June 2012.
National Review article excerpt. It reads: "On the other hand, when I hear some people accuse immigrants of destroying the American economy and culture and stealing jobs from American citizens, it stirs my anger, too. I can’t stand to hear immigrants described in terms more appropriate to a plague of locusts than human beings. And although I believe they are a small minority, I begin to wonder if some of the people who speak so disparagingly about immigrants would be just as worked up if most of them were coming from Canada."
