Tellus has a long, storied history. I submitted my first paper there 30 years ago for that reason. I'm excited about Tellus's rebirth and plan to submit my next paper on the Arctic Ocean carbon cycle there. In the age of money-grubbing publishers, I encourage you to consider Tellus.
Publication Fees
Starting in 2026, Tellus operates as a Diamond Open Access journal.
All articles are published Open Access with no fees for authors — no submission charges and no article processing charges (APCs).
This model is made possible through financial support from the Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL), the International Meteorological Institute (IMI), and the Bolin Centre for Climate Research, which together cover the journal's publication costs.
