Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 12/06/2026I sadly cannot be there, I'm a carer for my mother. I am scared that my community is so vulnerable. I am terrified for my lovely neighbours who are from diverse backgrounds. I am (selfishly) fearful of leaving my home empty except for my poor cats. 000
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 12/06/2026This is what community looks like. It's not the violent people choosing to use their energy in the most negative ways possible, causing harm to others/communities. We cannot forget that THIS is the reality. 010
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 11/06/2026I opened my office door to two pigeons on my bookshelf. I screamed. Can't blame the cats though, they were at home and this idiot must have left the window open. 000
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 13/05/2026He told ITV News there were “too many young people being put on disability benefits”. Young people can be disabled. Nobody is PUT on benefits, it's an apply/prove model. An application for Pip I advocated for took a year, MR, appeal and finally a tribunal. There's the wasted money - the process! 011

Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Common signs of burnout: Constant exhaustion, no matter how much you rest. Dreading responsibilities you once enjoyed. Feeling detached, unmotivated, or emotionally numb. Struggling to focus or making more mistakes than usual. Feeling irritable, anxious, or overwhelmed more often than not. 000
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Not everyone is as lucky to have such support, but please, if you need more help, ask before you hit this point. It really hurts when you hit the wall! This is a pretty raw post for me to make. Thanks if you stuck with me to the end ;-) Maybe you are in a similar boat? 8... END 100
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026I am fortunate that the team I work with are supportive. My family, great. My friends..I'm sorry as I am barely visible, but they get it (I hope). Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026I'm not even really sure what my point is, but I do know I should have dealt with these issues weeks, if not months before I actually did. Why didn't I? Love. Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026...yet I am desperate to get back to some kind of normal. To do this I've worked on the safe boundaries I needed to put in place as a carer (safe for me, and safe for the person I care for!), so that's in place. Next I need to to take my remaining sick leave to really recharge. 5... 100
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026It is apparent that there has been a culmulative effect of dealing with these health problems (appointments, chronic pain, debilitating symptoms), and trying to 'do it all' in and outside of work has thrown up a few problems for me. I am exhausted, I'm sleeping an inordinate amount of time... 4... 100
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026I'm not completely unable to function, but my functioning has certainly been severely impaired. I also have a disability, and several health problems that arise out of that disability (and a couple that don't!) so these do not help. 3... 100
Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 01/04/2026That's a term that feels very archaic to me right now. It also feels grounded in 'being a woman', which irks me to the nth. My GP has called it carer burnout. Glen @drgp.bsky.social · 28/12/2025I'm generally not a fan of CBT personally, however the idea that I can't control what someone thinks about me, but I can control my response, was among the most helpful statements for me.
