“The most Freddy movie” is a great way to put it. I absolutely adore this movie and even though it has a trope I hate in other movies (killing the previous survivors in the first act) it never bothered me too much here. Also: that is an awesome setup and I’m green (and red) with envy

Got started with the season early with LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, director's cut. Theatrical has the happy ending, which for a long time I preferred. But the director's cut, which literally has capitalism killing us all, feels more appropriate to the times. Don't feed the plants, indeed.

This movie was a beautiful surprise for me. I saw it as part of a double feature with a sneak preview of THE ODD COUPLE II, the movie I wanted to see. I expected schmaltzy nonsense for kids and ended up adoring it (while ODD COUPLE II was mostly hot garbage outside of a tiny handful of clever lines)

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. That opening dream sequence scared me to the marrow the first time I saw it. A close second is the original HALLOWEEN, both for the horrifying 6-year-old killer reveal and for Judith and her beau setting a sexual land-speed record.
