This mindset is even worse in film circles btw. The idea that I should want to see the actresses I love star in movies like this is seen as insulting. But why IS romance less valid than other genres. All genres are valid

Four years ago I took up fiction writing again. I doubt it means anything and it doesn’t do me much good. But it’s my hobby. I’ve had fits and spurts. This was the first big blast that’s never ended.

With my anxiety really bad, I have a window tomorrow to watch a new movie that will soothe it. But I have zero idea what to watch. I tried watching Idiots but it opens on a character getting fired and I realized not now. I want something new, not for kids, female led.

It’s so awesome that in 2008 I can’t imagine two guys with more diametrically opposite reactions from the geek community than Nolan and Pattinson and yet they collaborated on The Odyssey and every line is the funniest thing you’ll hear this year.

It’s just…Nolan really had an image as a cold artist for a long time. And he’s not. And he’s aching here. This movie is a guy who tried to achieve thematic closure last time and is still really upset so he keeps ranting in a supposedly new work but you can tell it’s the same rant.

Thinking about low bandwidth movies and there was a great one in 2024. It was too long at 137 minutes but it didn’t feel like awards bait. It was original. It was actually mostly a comedy and a really funny one. It was even female led. And it…won every award on the planet. Go figure.
