“I have come to bluesky to post about how everyone should go back to Twitter and then when I get yelled at I go, see, it’s so unfriendly here” is exceedingly tiresome at this point

Ossoff is one of the very few people adequately channeling Evelyn Normielib these days the base doesn't want to hear entreaties to our better natures, they don't want to go high while the other side goes low, they want someone to come on the TV and go "these people are garbage" he's good at it

I'm just gonna bookmark this for future reference when Dem pundits complain about how the party has trouble communicating its message to voters. The reason you keep running into trouble with your branding isn't campus radicals. The reason is that your opponents purchased all the media outlets.

It's really something that the NYT prints the ",like," in an AOC quote verbatim, but will gleefully edit out two and a half minutes of senescent sun-downing word-salad from Trump in order to pull quote the only coherent sentence in the whole thing and present that as the thing he said

The worst part of Bonta caving on the Paramount merger is that it's a big flashing signal to every other company that there is no antitrust enforcement in America and you can bully your way into getting whatever you want. It's a monumentally bad decision.

It isn't about writing someone 'out of history' but rather writing them out of the collective cultural mythology. Maximum success is when Donald Trump remains in history textbooks as a cautionary tale but does not have a wax figure in Disney's Hall of Presidents.

In the last decade, the IDF prosecuted one (1) soldier for unlawfully killing a Palestinian in the occupied territories. Elor Azaria served 9 months in prison. Today Israel's president, Yitzhak Herzog, pardoned him and expunged his criminal record. A clear message of 100% impunity.

You can have lots of arguments about if Jeffries should have forced a vote on Massie's impeachment resolution, but that was a choice. He could have done it. Johnson's procedural gambit only worked with Jeffries' passive acquiescence.

The problem that Dems will have in 28 is that they must prosecute & reverse everything this administration did, but the GOP candidates will say “move on” and the complicit American media will also ask, “isn’t it time to move on?”. We have an obligation to make sure nothing like this happens again
