TIL the design was intentional. My only experience with this kind of radiator comes from my freshman year of undergrad. The ‘historic’ dorms were for the honors program. And the radiators were stuck on, you couldn’t turn them off. In the middle of 100 degree late August summer. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The US is a great place to live for the super rich and super famous. For everyone else, plenty of other places would offer a better life. And yet, a big chunk of the latter group doesn't demand better from the US, because the former group convinced them that they too could be rich or famous someday.

If your dog walker’s labor commanded a living wage - let’s account for efficiencies from walking multiple dogs at a time, and doing it multiple times a day, but also vacations, insurance thru the marketplace, etc… - you’d be much less likely to deem it a “worthy expense.
