UPDATE: SCP Foundation have posted a statement saying they were not consulted or contacted about the A24 SCP project. scp-wiki.wikidot.com/statement-on...
Statement On V/H/S SCP Foundation Film

The staff and authors of the SCP Foundation Wiki (the real-life writing project behind the SCP Foundation universe and its official home) were not consulted or contacted regarding this film. We have been attempting to contact the filmmakers but haven't yet been successful. To be clear: we have not had any communication with the filmmakers, producers, or distributors for this project, despite our best efforts, and to the best of our knowledge they have not made any efforts to contact us. Furthermore, A24 does not and cannot have any exclusive rights to anything related to the SCP Foundation, including any films that Spooky Pictures or anyone else may choose to create.

on the flip side, there is no "music era" as described here. There has always been more music than one person can listen to just as there has always been more games than anyone can play. Actual issue is that we rarely have so much access to so much of it.

was attempting to double check a @politico.com articles claim that half of Americans use chatbots. of course the study they site is paywalled but pew seems to have asked the question with roughly the same results but upon looking closer at the numbers... like come on
a pew research result claiming half of all Americans use AI but the actual survey shows that only 100 peoples answers were used to make this conclusion.

I am really excited to see what the postmortem talks are going to be on this "single 9's" era of GitHub. I have been getting this error for a day and for the life of me I can't imagine how Github could still serve a webpage if this was a problem:
A screenshot of a GitHub commit page that shows the branch data but fails to retrieve last commit details.

Mild programming rant: I really find compile-time stuff being in-file as opposed to part of the build system to be the wrong direction. In practice it appears to create two DSLs within a language: one for runtime, the other for comptime.

Wildly disagree with this, I’m sorry. Console makers subsidize hardware so they can extract rent. An open computer is different because it can be used for anything and if they started taking that on the chin they would get people just trying to buy a computer. The Mac Mini is a good example here.

Large language models (LLMs) are known to generate plausible but false information across a wide range of contexts, yet the real-world magnitude and consequences of this hallucination problem remain poorly understood. Here we leverage a uniquely verifiable object - scientific citations - to audit 111 million references across 2.5 million papers in arXiv, bioRxiv, SSRN, and PubMed Central. We find a sharp rise in non-existent references following widespread LLM adoption, with a conservative estimate of 146,932 hallucinated citations in 2025 alone. These errors are diffusely embedded across many papers but especially pronounced in fields with rapid AI uptake, in manuscripts with linguistic signatures of AI-assisted writing, and among small and early-career author teams. At the same time, hallucinated references disproportionately assign credit to already prominent and male scholars, suggesting that LLM-generated errors may reinforce existing inequities in scientific recognition. Preprint moderation and journal publication processes capture only a fraction of these errors, suggesting that the spread of hallucinated content has outpaced existing safeguards. Together, these findings demonstrate that LLM hallucinations are infiltrating knowledge production at scale, threatening both the reliability and equity of future scientific discovery as human and AI systems draw on the existing literature.
