It's my thesis that the Habsburg/Hapsburg lip/jaw was noticed as a family trait only in the mid-C19 (so sez ngram viewer), but I can't find any decent historiography of the issue, despite it being so notorious. There's loads of medical speculation, but that's not what I'm after. Any ideas? Pls RT

Some tarantulas keep frogs as 'pets'. The frogs eat ants & other small bugs that might attack the eggs or young spiderlings of the tarantula & the tarantula provides shelter in their burrows. What's more: the tarantula will attack predators that might threaten the frog. (📷: Emanuele Biggi)

Université & IA : Le recours d'un étudiant contre son ajournement (en Master 1) est rejeté. Il avait reçu la note de 4/20 pour son mémoire de stage, liée à « l'utilisation probable de l'intelligence artificielle ». Car a cité plusieurs références académiques « inexistantes »... => bit.ly/3Q35RaH

A l'appui de sa demande d'annulation des décisions d'ajournement et de redoublement prises à son encontre, le requérant se borne à contester l'appréciation portée par le jury sur son mémoire de stage, noté à 4/20, en invoquant le caractère partial et infondé des appréciations portées sur celui-ci par les deux correcteurs, en particulier celles relatives à l'utilisation probable de l'intelligence artificielle, notamment révélée par plusieurs mentions de références académiques inexistantes dans sa bibliographie. Toutefois, et en tout état de cause, il ne conteste pas les termes de la décision du président du jury rejetant son recours gracieux selon lesquels la note attribuée à son mémoire de stage a été validée par une double correction réalisée par deux enseignants-chercheurs et après un ultime réexamen qui l'a confirmée, ce qui écarte les allégations de partialité des correcteurs. En outre, il ressort de cette même décision que M. C... a également obtenu une note de 6.75/20 en comptabilité et que la moyenne de la promotion pour le mémoire de stage a été fixée à 13.55/20, confirmant ainsi l'écart entre les attendus et les résultats obtenus. Dans ces conditions, les moyens tirés de l'inexactitude matérielle des faits et de l'erreur dans la qualification juridique des faits, à les considérer opérants, doivent être écartés. 9. En dernier lieu, en se bornant à alléguer que la décision en litige est fondée sur la volonté de sanctionner la rupture de son contrat d'apprentissage en l'excluant du cursus universitaire, alors que l'université fait valoir, sans être contredite, que d'autres étudiants ayant rompu leur contrat d'apprentissage ont néanmoins été admis, M. C... n'établit pas l'existence d'un détournement de pouvoir. Par suite, ce moyen doit être écarté. 10. Il résulte de tout ce qui précède que les conclusions à fin d'annulation de M. C... doivent être rejetées. (.)

Le constat récurrent de la reproduction des inégalités sexuées dans les institutions d’enseignement supérieur a quelque chose de décourageant. Même si des mutations de fond se sont opérées – notamment la large féminisation des premiers cycles, du doctorat et de certains postes universitaires –, les inégalités d’accès à certains sous-espaces disciplinaires et hiérarchiques perdurent. Pour dépasser cette sensation d’inertie, nous proposons de mettre en place une approche organisationnelle, mieux à même de saisir où se logent concrètement les mécanismes de production-reproduction de ces structures genrées. Notre article se basera sur l’analyse d’un objet encore trop peu connu : la durée des thèses. À partir de plusieurs modélisations des déterminants de la durée des thèses des docteur·es ayant soutenu leur thèse à l’université Grenoble Alpes entre 2017 et 2023, nous montrons qu’une approche efficace contre les inégalités sexuées en thèse devrait se baser sur les matrices disciplinaires.
