one common thread (among the horrifying many) between the numerous ICE shootings/murders is that no first aid was administered to the victim. armed combatants of the government shot to kill, and if they didn’t kill right away, they gave time for it to happen anyway. it is absolutely grotesque.

Grazing cattle is the single largest land-use humans have undertaken. Most degrade land, & where it may reduce SOC loss, gains are temporary & outweighed by the methane year after year. Offsetting global ruminant GHGs through SOC would require nearly 2x the carbon stock in all managed grasslands

The science communication literature is pretty clear: connect the facts and evidence you want to communicate with a deeply-held value the person has. This should be compatible with respect for them as an autonomous thinking person. Vast majority shut down if you start by telling them they’re wrong!

ICE has not paid any of its providers for detainees’ care since Oct. 3, 2025, according to agency regulatory filings and the ICE website. In an internal directive issued shortly after, obtained by the Chronicle and not previously reported, ICE declared “emergency operations,” sharply limiting offsite medical care and access to medication.
