“Stopping By for a Rest and a Visit”
giclée art print

The crescent moon takes a break from its celestial journeys to rest in the arms of an accommodating tree. Whilst taking a rest it visits with a favourite earthling: a cat. The cat sits at the base of the tree in a pool of moonlight and stares up at his friend.

A slime mold, possibly Arcyria cinerea. Waikahekaheiki, Puna, Hawaiʻi.
Several small, pale gray-white, fingerlike clusters rise from decaying wood and leaf litter. Their fuzzy surfaces and branching, coral-like forms contrast with dark brown debris and patches of green lichen.

Yes, it's lovely there is a pretty blue sky and some sunshine I'm sure, but I really shouldn't need to wear shorts and t-shirt in October, in England, because it's still too hot here for "proper" autumn clothes.

We got home yesterday from a park hopping trip to Ohio's Hocking Hills State Park, then New York's Letchworth State Park & finally New York's High Peaks area of the vast Adirondack Park. Lots of photos to sort through but here's a quick taste of each place. #photography #hiking #rocks #Ohio #NewYork
The Buckeye Trail (a long trail that "circles" Ohio) passes through -- literally -- Hocking Hills. In this case, the trail goes through a crack in the cliffs. Stone steps lead up to the crack. The only bridge that cross the Genesee River in Letchworth State Park is a beautiful stone bridge. The Lower Falls (yes there are Upper and Middle Falls) is visible in the distance. In the Adirondacks, trails mostly go up and are mostly steep. In this case a series of wooden steps takes one up a steep section. Mountains are visible in the distance and fall color is starting to come.
