The deployment of National Guard troops into cities has been so normalized that it barely merits a mention in the press or among the public anymore. D.C. remains occupied, Memphis is occupied, so is New Orleans... It's incredible to me.

In the year I've been working w/ air pollution regulators on data center on-site emissions, I've seen almost no acknowledgement of this trend from energy-side advocates of data center buildout. This isn't just bad actors-it's a corporate playbook and a roadmap to a future of unconstrained emissions.

Aminata Seck’s detention shows the bargain facing international college athletes: universities eagerly recruit them, but support can disappear when their immigration status becomes precarious.

In Denmark, the far right have gone from advocating for vague discrimination laws to openly advocating for apartheid laws in the span of decade because they've been coddled and appealed to. Blaming economics is obfuscating that these are deeply racist, entitled countries.

The idea that if you just adopt the far right's politics and rhetoric they'll wither away has been untrue. Who'd have thought? This is not due to "economics" but racists being racist because they were raised in a racist environment, and they feel empowered when appealed too.
