Tweed is such a beautiful fabric to wear this time of year because it produces, in Dolly Parton's phrasing, a coat of many colors. Even a solid-colored brown is not just brown, but bits of red, blue, and yellow to produce something that looks lifted off the Scottish landscape.

It really doesn't make sense to attribute those job losses to AI-the-technology, because if that were the case we'd be observing AI outputs displacing conventional entertainment products, and they're clearly not. Rather, the impact of AI is that AI-the-business is crowding out other investment.

Yeah, Breath of Fire 3 still kicks ass. I had forgotten how much character there is in the spritework and animations. Like kid Ryu as a concept being a clumsy doofus or the party getting dunked in water and shaking themselves dry.

Jaadugar is my anime highlight of 2026 summer season. Beautiful animation combined with direction that allows the atmosphere and its inhabitants to breathe. What a fascinating subject as well. I am always in for historical anime but both muslim and mongol cultures are rarely handled in pop media.

The Rhapsody of Zephy remaster is impressive... they added widescreen, full-voice acting and lots of QoL & cheat options like quest compass, more XP and auto-battle - all optional. Also, the remaster includes the original game! Excellent preservation work! Now to wait for the English translation...

Finished Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in anticipation to second season. It was disappointing. For the couple of good episodes a lot of the time episodes were full of filler animation. The script didn't really tell as much as it did just assume that it's important to tell this story.
