I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

📉 ICYMI: No signs of recovery as Yandex suffers a sustained connectivity loss consistent with extensive infrastructure damage after Ukrainian drone strikes on key data centers in Sasovo and Vladimir. The Russian tech giant has issued a bleak outlook to users at home and abroad.
Graph from NetBlocks showing network connectivity by provider in Russia from September 25, 2026, to October 12, 2026. The y-axis represents normalized connectivity from 0% to 100%, and the x-axis represents dates and times. The graph indicates connectivity remaining stable in Yandex.Cloud (AS200350) throughout most of the period, before dropping on the early morning of October 8 and the second time on the morning of October 11(Russia time). The disruptions correspond to power outages following Ukranian drone attacks targeting Yandex datacenters. The minimum and current connectivity levels are 30% and 33%, respectively. The chart has a dark background with two orange circles labeled 'SASOVO DC HIT' and 'VLADIMIR DC HIT' indicating the loss of connectivity, and includes the NetBlocks logo in the lower left corner with the Mapping Internet Freedom slogan.

⚠️ Confirmed: Metrics show a second collapse in the networks of Russian tech giant Yandex after a new Ukrainian drone attack on data centers in Vladimir this morning. The campaign comes not long after Russia's threat to give Ukraine a "digital detox."

Sometimes my wife and I like to send each other text messages as though they’re democratic fundraising messages, and I believe she has produced the jewel of the form.
, it's
and I
have some personal news to share with you.
Being a mom is one of the greatest joys of my life, and I feel deeply that we should have salad tonight
This year has been challenging in many ways, and I have immense gratitude for the kindness and support of family, community, and people like you who have continued to stand by me through everything. It means the world, and I wanted you to be among the first to know that squash is in the oven and kale is in the fridge. As many of you are aware, ve been navigating one of the most challenging periods of my day while waiting for dinner.
Facing baseless federal hunger brought on by not eating since lunch, fighting for the working kids of this country, and now caring for a mean toddler and helping him grow up in a world that isn't always easy. But it has also reminded me exactly why I do this work and who I do it for.
I will never stop working to eat dinner. I will never stop fighting for what is right, even when there is also some feta in the fridge. And I will never stop being so very thankful that you are by my side in this important work and that there is tahini in the pantry for dressing
With love and gratitude,
stop to end

One of the more peculiar 9/11 traditions was that for a number of years, the major news outlets would just replay their coverage from that day. It bothered me: it seemed retraumatizing, and provided no additional info or context or perspective. I kept wondering what family members might feel?

It's great that there's new information about the dangerous air in lower Manhattan after 9/11, covered up by Giuliani and the Bush Admin. But we knew about the dangers and the lies long ago. I published this in 2009:
Afterward, many immediately recognized the terrible toxicity of the
air from the pulverized buildings. Asbestos, heavy metals, burning PCBs,
and plastics were all fueling a deadly miasma that those on and around
the site would breathe for months. The Bush administration edited the

contamination, few fully followed those guidelines, and the city did not
press for enforcement or other safety standards. Wall Street reopened six
days after the attack, though the air quality there as well was terrible.
When journalist Juan Gonzalez reported on some of the atmospheric
dangers of lower Manhattan in the Daily News, six weeks after the attack,
a deputy mayor called the newspaper’s editors to denounce the story.
The firefighters were lauded as heroes again and again, but they were
not protected, beforehand by a workable system and good equipment, or
after, by sane health standards (and today they remain shockingly under-
paid, so much so that many work second jobs and most live far from the
places they serve). Many of the firemen and other workers on- site devel-
oped what was known as “Trade Center cough,” and for some it would
worsen into serious lung disease and damage and a host of other health
problems. Seven years later, more than ten thousand exposed people had sought treatment just at New York City’s designated treatment centers
and the total number affected remain unknown.
