Heard on R4’s Today programme that Holborn and St Pancras are giving Labour “another chance”. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 403 times, shame on etc…” How many times can a party make promises it doesn’t keep before voters stop believing the next batch?

Massive swing towards the greens, who tripped their vote while Labour lost nearly one in every ten of their votes. Actually decimated. Which still wasn't enough in that very safe seat. Obviously this means Burnham is winning and Zack has to go. 🙄

It's a curious thing to see so many people outside the Green party calling for him to go. Even more curious after the recent electoral success and Green influence in turning Labour away from Starmer, then seeing all the good stuff in Burnham's speech. Greens made that happen that under Polanski.

I absolutely love this from Peter Fonagy in his foreword to the English prevalence review. Stop judging kids today by your memories, and recognise that, if you don’t like how they’re reacting to today’s world, we’re the ones that shaped it for them.
I want to be careful not to turn my own history into a lesson for other people's children. Life has become harder since I was a young man: more uncertain, more relentlessly observed and appraised, with less belonging and fewer opportunities to take time-out, to recuperate and recover. The cacophony of voices now available to a young person - most of them digital, many of them confident, few of them accountable - has made the ordinary developmental process of understanding oneself far harder than it was for me, and the consequences for how young people function are correspondingly greater. As a clinician who still sees young people, and as a proud father of two children, I am in awe of their courage. Young people today are contending with more powerful forces than I ever faced. They are not fragile.
They are outnumbered.

Also a big fan of the fact that Wes Streeting said mental illness was over-diagnosed and commissioned this review with that in mind and the person he appointed has today gone on the radio and said, and I quote, Wes Streeting was “completely wrong”.

Lots of people are trying to get @zackpolanski.bsky.social to resign. They are doing it because he is a threat to them, to Labour, to Burnham, to the establishment, to big oil and to the cosy careerist political conveyor belt. Zack must definitely stay. He’s just getting started.

I don’t think Britain would’ve actively gone along with it, provided logistical, intelligence and political support and crushed opposition to genocide back in 2013. But some very nasty shit went on in this country over the ensuing decade that brought genocide and McCarthyism well inside the tent.

It's not a good result for Labour, if these patterns were to repeat in a General they'd lose a lot of seats. It's one of their safest seats and the Greens gained 22% right in the middle of a media storm.

Let's put it this way: if this was a Green safe seat and Labour tripled its vote while knocking off a couple of points from the Green majority, the narrative would also be that the Greens had failed. The story's pre-decided.

Put Nigel Farage on TV denouncing the left’s racist hate. Get Shabana Mahmood to denounce it on Good Morning Britain, have that Tory Neo-Nazi antiracism adviser on to back her up. Then bring on Nick Timothy to explain it’s a multi-tentacled Muslim conspiracy that infests every institution in the UK.

I think saying all Zionists are the moral equivalent of Nick Griffin is beyond pious and flimsy. It's horrible, and helps no-one. If you reply, be civil. That's the only way we get back to a)the horrors committed by the Israeli govt and b)the polarised mess our country is in

I invite you do notice what *doesn’t* cross a very significant red line. Genocide isn’t even nearly a deal-breaker, politicians can fly out to have their photos taken grinning next to the Israeli PM without a peep. It’s not fully adopting the policies, rhetoric and optics of then National Front.

The more I see how "AI" is developing, the less convinced I am that there are legitimate uses. On the creative front, it destroys creativity by design. You can't escape it: either it replaces human creatives, or it stops you from building your own creative expertise. Even if ethically trained.
