The Pen yr Orsedd standing stones near Llanfairynghornwy, Anglesey. Unfortunately both are on private farmland and both were surrounded by cows when I visited, but you can still get a good view from the road. The northern stone is apparently the tallest on the island at over 5 metres.

Bledlow Ridge Brownies commissioned @chapcic.bsky.social to run a session for their Archaeology badge! 26 very enthusiastic young people handled artefacts, discussed local archaeology, and made 'Beaker pots'. The evening ended with a bit of a carnyx solo,and they each left with a copy of my book.

Walked the ramparts of enormous Uley Bury hillfort, Gloucestershire, at the weekend. Lovely views and a whole series of hollow ways in the area - perhaps some date back to the Iron Age? #HillfortsWednesday

The first phase of Over Needingworth’s Barrow 20 involved an in-situ cremation event followed by the construction of a turf mound. The cremation took place directly on the buried soil surface and left traces of the pyre remains.
