Some brilliant questions from very switched-on young people. They showed really interest in both the ecology and the archaeology of this site - proving that these programmes are so important for ensuring the next generation is ready to look after the future and the past. Good work @wildlifebcn.org

Fascinating world of ancient #glass: an amazing #Roman glass garland bowl, that represents a peak of Roman glassmaker’s skill at producing vessels. Very few ancient vessels were made of large sections or bands of different colored glass, and this is the only known...🧵1/2 📷 Metropolitan Museum
The picture shows a Roman glass bowl consisting of four large segments of colorless, purple, yellow, and blue glass. Applied to the interior of the bowl at the center of each segment a hanging garland.

Hello Bluesky! A favour, if you please... This year's CHAP fieldschool is going to be a corker, and whilst registrations are coming in, I need a bit more exposure. I refuse to go back on Xitter... If you think you might connect with those interested in learning archaeology in practice, plz share?

Great thanks to Dr Pete Hommel @liverpooluni.bsky.social for a wonderful workshop. Very useful, certainly for me, and I imagine for all who attended. Great to come away energised and sharing ideas with so many people doing heritage outreach as part of the job!

Did you catch NBY's Martha on Countryfile last Sunday? Vick Hope joined us on the sparkling Hamble Brook with CCSP to do a RiverFly kick sample, and discuss the transformative restoration work that has given the river its voice back.  . @chapcic.bsky.social  @heritagefunduk.bsky.social

Kudos to the team from @buckscouncil.bsky.social heritage team. Wonderful session at the #CiFA conference in Edinburgh. Papers worked very well together, like a coordinated orchestra and it was privilege to be asked to speak. Collaborative work IS the way forward; nature and heritage are allies!

Heading to Edinburgh this morning to present at the CiFA conference tomorrow. It's a session about working with ecologically minded folk and working to ensure heritage has a meaningful seat at the Nature Recovery table. My paper? Chalk & Cheese?: Cross-specialism collaboration in the Chilterns

This year's theme for @archaeologyuk.bsky.social Festival of Archaeology is Archaeology & Nature. CHAP has been busy this week planning events with @nationaltrust.org.uk @wildlifebcn.org & naturalengland.bsky.social In David Attenborough's 100th year, I can't think of anything more fitting!
