"On average, the time change causes a 6 percent increase in fatal car accidents in the week following the spring DST transition, which amounts to about 28 additional deaths each year." 28 more people in a year with a baseline of 40,000. You are confusing substantive and statistical significance.

I've been thinking that the disconnect is between people in imaging/method development groups and people in core facilities who interact with VERY different communities of users.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I have been yelling at anyone who will listen about these kinds of pseudo fluorescence i2i methods for years now. For sure some valid use cases, but infinitely many more ways it can (and will) be abused.

I don't know this technique, but If they're using label free imaging followed by some kind of image-to-image translation task to generate pseudo fluorescence, that would explain a lot of the weird artifacts. But, really stretching the definition of "light microscopy" here Nikon.

Had an abundance of cherry tomatoes from the garden so we're making one of the simplest - and best - pasta sauces. Garlic and tomatoes in a pot, cook long and slow with salt until they've broken down completely, add fresh basil at the end.

My most hardened take on this now having worked in a country with ~1 year of paid maternity leave is that whatever leave is offered needs to be mandatory and equivalent for both parents. Otherwise it just becomes another disadvantage to women of child-bearing age in the job market.
