Looks like We 💚 Seattle found out who turned them in...and the person isn't me. Though they probably wont, the right thing for @reason.com to do, would be to either remove the video content or issue a retraction, since they now KNOW this to be a lie.

Gives me hope we can retake the council from them next year. If this is the best they got now, they're gonna struggle to stay relevant next year, especially if any of their incumbents decide to retire.

Never forget. Defunding never happened. SPD had their feelers hurt and have been on wildcat strike for years. Centrist pols and the police union have used these hurt feelings as a cudgel to hurt legitimate attempts to reform policing in the city. Get cops off Tiktok and back to doing their jobs.

maybe after Jaahnavi Kandula, I'm getting a little numb to the "har har" nature of cop-speak after they ice someone. But beyond the depravity, the dullness of these officers really comes through here. type of person you can't trust to turn off a stove.
Just a day after they’d killed Joshua Musselman, Officer Daniel Valencia texted Officer Matthew Stewart: “So what’s the crime we were investigating yesterday? Unlawful discharge? Haha.”
Stewart replied: “Hahahahahaha Being a douche lol.”
Valencia responded, “Right. But for reals. For the report. What’s the crime at that point? Unlawful discharge or are we doing a welfare check? Lol. Cuz no one developed [probable cause]. Huh? Lol.”

This is exactly right. Think of what happened these last few years with gerrymandering. Republicans have been pushing the envelope in red states for more than a decade now, but as soon as Democrats pushed back they began to hesitate.

8th is considered off limits cause it's used as an on ramp to I-5 North at 70th. They will never give that road over to be pedestrianized, addressing Roosevelt Way is what should be done, in this long term local's opinion.

I lived in Roosevelt for the last 15 years, walked my dog along Roosevelt, 65th and other roadway streets. I liked being able to visit the shops like Sun Rise produce and HealthMutt with my dog. The residential north-south roads around Roosevelt are also littered with driveways.

If anyone wants a preview what this would like like for our forrests and farm land, go visit fife and the south hill area of Pierce County, then look at pictures of them 20 years ago. Watching those woods get eaten away inspired my stance on urban density. Saving trees requires building homes.

I reanalyzed the CDC data behind the LGB “free fall” headline. It rests on a change in bisexual identification among one grade, in one wave, of one survey. Gay or lesbian identification did not change significantly. Calling it a "free fall" is sensational and just gives bad actors talking points.
Six small line charts showing the percent of U.S. high school students choosing each sexual identity response option by grade (9th to 12th), 2015 to 2025, with 95% confidence intervals. Heterosexual falls from about 85 to 90 percent before 2021 to about 73 percent in 2021 and 2023, then rises to about 78 to 80 percent in 2025. Gay or lesbian stays between about 2 and 5 percent throughout. Bisexual rises to about 12 percent in 2021 in every grade, then among 9th graders falls to about 7 percent in 2025, its 2019 level, while other grades stay near 10 percent. “Some other way,” added in 2021, falls from about 4 percent to about 2.5 percent. “Not sure” stays near 3 to 5 percent. A dotted line marks 2021, when CDC changed the response options.
