Lionel Reid, 19, ploughed his BMW into a cyclist while under the influence of alcohol and then left the scene. Cannabis was also found in his system. The 50-year-old cyclist sustained serious head injuries. I am sure we all feel reassured that Reid’s punishment is an 18-week suspended sentence.

Yeah, I think we're gonna get into weeds on this if we're not careful, but briefly... 1. Pavement parking, including loads of illegal pavement parking and loads of marked pavement parking is all over London and absolutely very common (delivery drivers 'popping in' etc.). So we absolutely disagree...

Now do cars? Cars parked on pavements etc. FWIW I don't think anyone is denying there is too much bad dockless parking. But some of that down to too few bays cos councils don't want to repurpose car bays. And some down to flexible parking area which really should only be in outer edge suburbs...

🔋🚲 Dockless hire bikes are massively popular, but their sheer popularity and rapid expansion means they're causing some issues - particularly around over-full parking bays. Mayor is absolutely right that government & DfT need to hurry up to deliver a pan-London programme that works for everyone.

On the same day diesel hit £2 a litre for the first time, we took 50+ cargo bikes onto the streets of London for the seventh Cargo Bike Cruise. While diesel vans are getting more expensive to run, cargo bikes are becoming a practical and cheaper option for more and more businesses.

TfL are clearly not serious about helping people choose cheaper, more sustainable modes when it costs TWO AND A HALF TIMES as much to cross the river by bike on the Rotherhithe ferry as it does to drive through Blackwall or #SilvertownTunnel off-peak.

Good luck to any children trying to cycle south through this junction. #VisionZero is just words.

An engineering plan of a complex signalised crossroads with many traffic lanes and multi stage pedestrian crossings.

There is a south bound cycle lane with a give way just after so cyclists have to somehow give way as they enter the centre of the junction.

Pedestrian islands are not refuges. They don't slow down drivers, & they leave pedestrians in a hazard or place. If there's space for a pedestrian island, there's space to widen the pavements, narrow the carriageway, and install a raised crossing.

Well thanks! I use my ebikes as my mobility aid & as all EAPC compliant eBikes, they're now faster & classed as cycles. So why discriminate against ebikes users coz of bikers using illegal unregistered electric motorcycles which should be enforced than BS about banning legal ebikes.
