Cycling UK's action is important to prevent withdrawal of the cycle-train option. There's also concern for cycle carriage in the south of England where spaces designated for cycle carriage have been withdrawn despite positive sounding "Better Connected: A Strategy for Integrated Transport".

When the media reports a 20mph ‘blanket ban’ it’s often misleading, presuming that even the A-roads are now forced to limit you to a more pedestrian-friendly pace. That’s never been quite true, although for campaigners within the city limits of Bath, that’s the goal... road.cc/news/cycling...
