It is 7 PM and I am currently weighing the pros and cons of going shopping right now for a full caffeine root beer and vanilla ice cream

I turned off auto update on my phone on the plus side: no AI getting added to anything without me knowing On the minus: all my apps keep breaking from being out of date you just can't win

He did a song for the end credits of a real and official pokemon game, and you know nintendo would not have done that if there was any chance he would ever come out with any sort of interesting or remotely controversial opinion

wtf I didn't know this event existed if I had been paying attention I would have not gone because I was at work, but at least would have had a short list of places you should visit while you're here

They added some lines along the ground and walls in the 3DS version of the game that subtly led you towards the different water level switches and they made the temple much more playable and I think were well received so probably they'll just do that

I'm on this website right now because I turned on my computer after an update and it was taking long enough to turn on that I had to go to another room and distract myself from looking at it eventually I will have to go back but until it is observed I can hope it's fine

The switch OLED has almost no border, but the switch 2 uses an LCD screen again (probably due to them being like 1/5 of the price to manufacture) and so needs a larger bezel in theory it seems like a lot but in practice I don't notice it

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Many authors would have done those and explained it with "this book takes place in a world where those things are true" props to you for going the extra distance and doing it a more interesting way

My first thought is about how much easier it would be now that monitors don't weigh anything. You could cut down on material significantly! These should be everywhere!

Weirdly enough there is a game that is a tiny little bit RTS that was built into the Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story remakes on the 3DS. It only counts in that they involve building armies and a tiny amount of strategy but Nintendo has at least thought about it

@tkingfisher.com I just got back from a vacation of reading books in a cabin. One of those books was Snake Eater. I was left with many questions about this town and the spirits and such, but none more critical than this: did I misread or did you stealth-set this book 25 years in the future

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

It was relegated to a perk in BO7 and it was huge how much better the game was without it. Unfortunately they've rolled back a bunch of other positive progress that BO7 made, but it's cool they kept *something*

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

It's like the martian or project hail mary, the "chapter upon chapter of a man talking to himself and doing math" is more the point than the "dramatic story about a man returning from space" ever was

010

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

and what I'm saying (as someone who has been reading literally every manga on the shonen jump app since it was introduced) is that sungwon is right and exactly 95% of manga with an interesting premise devolve into bogstandard shonen

000

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

hey man this might be news to you but when this man put a clearly hyperbolic post on the internet with a graph from mspaint he was not being literal nobody thought "oh he clearly did the math to get that 95% number" it's just a trend that has happened and is noticable

100

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

A very obvious example of this is Kinato's Magic, a very recent manga about a guy who used magic to do like healing massages on people and it very quickly changed to him using that magic on himself to be good at fights

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Sometimes people just like different things, and that's fine. That's not what's happening here, though, what's happening here is you don't understand the beauty of one thousand kids playing one strategy game very slowly, I love every plodding chapter of this and I am not joking

130

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

I am with you on both points but eventually was bullied into reading these books and ended up really enjoying them, neither of those things are anywhere near as central to the books as I thought they'd be beyond like 20% of the first one but also, you don't feel like reading them it's fine

001

CT3LA @ct3la.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

If it makes you feel any better most cooling systems are real overkill and unless you're pushing your computer to its limits you can get by fine missing a case fan or two.

old ipod and old ipod dock usually findable at thrift store? But someone still will have to put podcasts and sudiobooks on the ipod you can get a radio that plays files off a USB stick, now that I think about it, so long as someone can load the USB up.

I know technically Zelda is all one timeline, according to Nintendo, but the theory that I heard before they confirmed it was that every Zelda game was actually the same story but as told by different cultures. A “legend” if you will. That’s the version I subscribe to. I think it’s fun

I know this is a bit and serious responses are not funny but just replace your phone battery, way way cheaper and unless you have an a20 or a03 or moto g or other garbage phone you're not going to see a difference in function when you upgrade

Doughboys is a podcast that is theoretically about fast food but is in practice about two guys television industry guys who are pretty smart but don't know how to act on it it's a very dumb podcast that has a lot of kind of mid level celebrities as guests.

I don't remember ever not having it, but I think it was a rebuilt street fighter cabinet that he did some work on and threw a windows 98 computer with MAME in. The long term effect is I have lots of feelings about NEO-GEO games nobody else has thought of since 1996
