The seasons blur a bit for me, but I do remember some kind of lull in the middle. I think it's more and more focused on the family dynamics towards the end, maybe the full final season and I always thought that was when it was at its best

"Episode 2" is also a recreation of another amazing scene from succession, the "clear the air" scene between Shiv (Amodei) and Tom (Altman): www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH55... --- I mean I don't know you and I don't know what you like, but Succession is amazing and maybe you should give it a second try

Yes it is shot for shot the succession karaoke / you're not serious people scene: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZTa... ; the dialog also follows the same cadence & structure. The AI version has: Logan - Huang / Kendal - Amodei / Shiv - Aella / Roman - Altman / Kerry - David Sacks

It's the same level as in Feb 2018. Pandemic years were weird and correlation is with interest rate hikes (tradingeconomics.com/united-state...) & war in Ukraine. I'm far from confident that there isn't an effect, but I don't think the data supports being confident that there is, either.

US unemployment is down from its peak in Nov 2025, to same level as Feb 2025. It is at 4.1% which is a pretty healthy number (tradingeconomics.com/united-state...). OECD average steady at 4.9% since pandemic Subjective feeling of job market notwithstanding, worth avoiding spreading misinformation

In two years? Or ever? The former seems plausible (i.e. that they will NOT be able to do it), but I've been so wrong about the pace of AI progress, that my main lesson has been to just not bother trying to predict anything

Eh, is there a particular custom language that is good at it? I tried Claudish, got better results with "Language Model Speak" but still not amazing. The top "alternative" is possibly better?
Kagi Translate UI showing a translation from "Language Model Speak":

On the day view this asks once, standing for the two days it was missed. The missed days are not hidden: they are the two marked below, and they stay here whatever the day view shows.

Into English:

In the daily view, this prompt appears once, covering the two missed days. The missed days are not hidden: they are the two marked below, and they remain there regardless of what the daily view shows.

With the top alternative translation:

In the day view, this prompt appears just once to account for the two missed days. These missed days remain visible: they are the two marked below, and they stay there no matter what the day view displays.

Why do they suck? Just the implications to the type system, making generic code much harder to write? Or do you mean they're not worth it even for what they're trying to achieve. Like what about the classic motivating example, a File whose Drop should return a Result (in case flushing fails)?

For vec! specifically, wouldn't the signature `const fn vec<T, const N>([T; N]) -> Vec<T>` make more sense since it's homogeneous? If we could add splat to fixed arrays, then no need for all th impl-s But I thought vec! as a macro is needed for perf, to use set_len and to ellide an alloca & memcpy

write this in 1k lines of rust? why reinvent the wheel? nvidia tubu already exists. it integrates with heebee-x and poodee-jit. they evaluated tubu with cuDippy in a paper recently. NVweeno and heebee-gumpy implement the same thing but depend on each other for some reason. have you tried gumpy?

The prompt has to be written like that, otherwise it will use tools (claude.ai/share/fcc238...), and refuse to do it without a tool, saying:
I want to be straight with you before I start: this list has roughly a thousand numbers in it. Sorting it "by hand" — meaning I just generate the sorted output as text without running any code — is something I will get wrong. Not "might get a few wrong" wrong, but "will almost certainly drop, duplicate, or misplace a meaningful number of entries" wrong. Language models are bad at this kind of bulk symbolic manipulation; it's exactly the task computers were invented for.
So I'd rather not silently hand you a result that looks plausible but is quietly broken. A few options that would actually work:

I run it through the code tool (one line, guaranteed correct) and give you back the sorted list.
You tell me you want me to try anyway, understanding the output won't be reliable, and I'll attempt it as a demonstration.
If the goal is to see me reason through a sorting algorithm on a small example, I can do that on a short list.

Which would you like?

For fun: claude.ai/share/42fd2f... --- it did what you would do if tasked with sorting 1000 numbers between 1-10000, given a piece of paper: complained about it, then bucketed them, sorted the buckets and put them together. It did drop 3 numbers, it didn't add any. The remaining 997 are correct.
