vent comic I wrote about rejection sensitivity like two years ago but just now finished rendering :) #ventart

First panel is a snake-bitten, outstretched hand, reaching towards a hissing cobra.

“It is easy to confuse your teases for taunts-“

The next panel is a close up of a mouth, with a dark liquid oozing out of the corners of their mouth.

“When bits of truth seep out the edges of your words.”

“A mockery of mocking-“

We see a close up of a boiling liquid followed by more text: “yet the boiling of a face flushed-“

Then followed by another panel of perfectly placed push pins and the words: “and the pinprick of shame-“

A winding needle and thread with the word, “lingers” follow.

Slowly, the background becomes a cacophony of the phrase “it lingers”. before moving onto the next panel in which a stitched and scarred person stands in darkness, pointing the sharp end of needle towards their face.

“Once again-“

The person starts stitching the open wound on their face. As they do this a maggot begins to crawl out of their empty eye socket.

“I am reminded-“

The same person but this time from the front. They look upon their reflection in horror as their skin rots off their body.

Stitches and seams popped open, we see they have no bones or organs, but a variety of bugs attempting to escape open wounds.

The last part of the text reads “-that I’m not one of you.”
